Manage your account and password

Your profile holds the details that are yours rather than your workspace’s: your name, your avatar, and your password. Open it from your avatar in the top right, then My Profile.

Every password, whether you are changing it or resetting it, must have:

  • at least 12 characters
  • one lowercase letter
  • one uppercase letter
  • one number
  • one symbol, for example ! @ # $ % ^ & *

The requirement list sits under the password box and ticks each rule off as you type, so you can see a password become acceptable rather than discovering it was not after you submit.

  1. Open My Profile and find the Password panel.
  2. Enter your current password.
  3. Enter the new password twice.
  4. Click Change password.

Your current password is required even though you are already signed in. That is deliberate: it means someone who picks up an unlocked laptop cannot turn a borrowed session into permanent ownership of your account.

The change takes effect the next time you sign in. Sessions already open, including the one you just used, keep working.

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password? beside the password box.
  2. Enter the email address you sign in with, and click Email me a code.
  3. Read the 6-digit code out of your email, and type it in along with your new password.
  4. Click Set new password. You land back on sign-in, where you can use the new password straight away.

The code expires after an hour. If it does, or if you mistype it too many times, ask for another one and start again. There is a one-minute wait before a second code is sent, so a form submitted twice does not leave you with two codes and no way to tell which is live.

  • Check the address. A reset for an address with no account produces no email, and the page cannot tell you that.
  • Check your spam folder. The code arrives from your workspace’s configured sender.
  • Ask your workspace administrator to confirm the address on your user record, on Settings → Governance → Users.

Your email address is fixed. It identifies your account, carries your invitations, and appears on everything you have done in the workspace, so changing it is an administrator action rather than a self-service one.
